Triangular Distribution

Transform > Random Data > Triangular

Generates random data from a triangular distribution between two points that you designate.

Use the triangular distribution for random variables that are between two fixed limits. The distribution peaks at a value between the two limits.

Dialog box items

Target Column:
Enter a storage column for the generated values. Leave blank to have VisualStat automatically name the target column.

Sampling:
Choose from the following options:

oSample Size: Enter the number of rows of random data you want to generate.

oDistribution: Select the distribution for the variable.

oSet Seed with: Lets you start a random number sequence with a seed you specify.

Lower Bound:
Enter the lower bound value you want to use for the triangular distribution.

UpperBound:
Enter the upper bound value you want to use for the triangular distribution.

Mode:
Enter the mode value you want to use for the triangular distribution.
